In a clutch?  Dallas Handbag Designer, Danielle Teylor Revs It Up For Fall!

After a weekend trip to California, Danielle Teylor subtly sauntered onto the Dallas fashion scene in 2008 with her couture clutches.  Nonplussed by the clutches in her closet, she made one herself using a leopard-print hide, then spiffed it up with her grandmother’s broach.  “I couldn’t find any creative clutches to take on my trip. I also needed a clutch that would transition from day to evening so I wouldn’t have to pack a second,” says Teylor.

Supple hides with unique texture, natural patterning and exotic prints are the starting point for any Danielle Teylor bag.  Leathers are artfully manipulated, folded and hand-sewn to create her signature pieces.  Each bag is crafted from start to finish by the designer and artist; Teylor’s drip-dry relief paintings on metal were sold at a prominent La Jolla gallery.

Her fall lineup is sophisticated yet bohemian featuring a high-spiritedness, very much on cue with Teylor’s personality.  Pink rhinestone-encrusted pig, anyone?  Snatch it up now as the designer uses vintage broaches and adornments that strike her fancy and never repeats herself. She buys her skins in small quantities too. So if you like the leopard, leap for it. The talented Teylor will also integrate one of your own sentimental pieces into a bag of your choosing and even custom-design an  original for you if you just can’t decide on any of the ones at Betty Reiter in Plaza at Preston Center.

Danielle Teylor was born with two things, naturally curly hair and talent. Raised by her grandparents in west Texas, as a 16-year-old she attended the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Pasadena, California. Later on she attended the Advertising Arts Academy of La Jolla.

Mistress of reinvention, Danielle worked as a model and actor in television and film. Eventually she turned the lens outward and became the photographer rather than the photographed. In Los Angeles she assisted a celebrity photographer prior to branching out with her own freelance work. While living in Los Angeles, she also worked in film production and development.

Teylor continued her California trek back to the southernmost tip where she started a coffee kiosk company christened, The Lively Brew.  After success serving up caffeine-lovers’ beverage of choice in San Diego and La Jolla, she sold the business and started buying homes to remodel.  Self-taught; the first home she remodeled was in Cardiff by the Sea.  Her remodeling expertise brought her back to Texas in 2005.  She moved to Dallas and remodeled the Infomart Café and Bar and also designed the fitness center within.

Always relying on her artistic ability, Danielle will be exhibiting at Fashion Week in New York City in September 2009 at Veaux Gallery.  And, on November 20, 2009, Teylor will receive the Accessory Design Award presented by Fashion Group International Dallas. Fashion Group International Dallas’ Fashion and Lifestyle Awards will take place in Victory Park at the LFT space managed by W Dallas Victory.
