FOYD, the Five Outstanding Young Dallasites, recognizes five young professionals in the Dallas metro area for outstanding contributions to their community in business, social and charitable arenas. FOYD is put on by the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce (DJCC) each year. Founded in 1927, this annual award was originally The Distinguished Service Award. As one of the most outstanding achievements of the Dallas Junior Chamber of Commerce, this award has also been adopted by the United States Jaycees as a national award. FOYD is part of the international program Ten Outstanding Young Persons, TOYP, held annually at the JCI World Congress. Winners of FOYD also have the opportunity to be named one of the Five Outstanding Young Texans (FOYT) or one of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans (TOYA) at the national level.
We strongly encourgae you to nominate any and all outstanding young professionals in Dallas who you think would be worthy of this honor. Nomination for FOYD is free and honorees will be selected from a panel of notable leaders from here in Dallas and will be recognized at a reception on September 24, 2009.
